Join your host Garhdo for a review of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ sophomore season. Strange New Worlds does some interesting things this year, confronting franchise tropes like time travel and trial proceedings, as well as the horrors of war, but it also explores more comedic elements and takes the franchise in new directions with an animated crossover episode and the first ever musical episode of Star Trek. Can it continue to build on the strong foundation laid by the first season to reach newer and greater heights?

Strange New Worlds had, in my opinion, the best debut season of a Star Trek show since the original series. Where most series seem to struggle to find their footing I felt that it instead came out swinging, and the big swings have continued ever since, with more recent series getting very divisive, as I will discuss when I eventually go back to the series, but at this point I wanted to look at the sophomore season and judge that, as some of the more outlandish elements began to appear in certain episodes, and I felt a need to defend them.
