I have struggled so much with the idea of whether I should keep this episode up. At the time of recording the accusations of sexual offenses committed by Neil Gaiman had not been revealed, and while I know of him and his reputation in comic and fantasy spaces my own experience of his work was minimal. Besides the film of Coraline and his work with Marvel Comics on 1602 this was my first real experience of his work, and another of many Sir Terry Pratchett works that I was exposed to. As it is I have not seen the conclusion to this story, as a result of the accusations, and I hate that I have this episode praising his work and talent when he is responsible for acts I find horrific and deplorable, without it containing some form of criticism of that.
I have also moved away from plans to visit more of his work, such as his comic run on Sandman, which I have never read and always wanted to, and while I still might read it, as I have access to copies of the original run that I already paid for, as well as his work on Miracleman and the novel American Gods, but if I do I will not cover any of them on this podcast.
